Christian inspirational author and outreach mentor

Shannon Gilmour resides in rural Saskatchewan, Canada with her husband where she homeschools their daughter.

"It's truly an honor to be able to teach our daughter God's ways through education and learning. It's been fun, and hard at times, but I've learned alot about myself. Homeschooling isn't just a challenge for the child, it's a challenge for the whole family because it is the challenges that enable problem solving and understanding that brings the family closer together."

In her spare time, Shannon continues to share the love of God through internet outreach and inspirational writings that help encourage others as they embark on their own journey of faith.

"I enjoy writing so much. Even though teachers saw a talent in me as early as the age of seven, I never really saw it. I gave up on myself a long time ago based on the upbringing I had. Life wasn't easy for me, as it isn't easy for any of us.

Some may struggle through an easier time of it, but when it comes down to it, we are all in this life together. If my writing can help minister to someone's heart and give them an encouraging word, then I am already successful. I'm satisfied knowing that we can all know God in our own little way and come to a deeper understanding that encourages a deeper relationship with our Father. The end result isn't what I see in my bank account- it's who I see up in heaven!"

"I see writing as only part of the bigger picture. Writing is what I love to do and I'll never stop, but I see now God wants to use this writing on a grander scale. I take what I do very seriously, and I do not want anyone to think that I trivialize what I do. This way of writing is a ministry and it took other people to see that for me to recognize it. All I've ever wanted to do was help, and I'm fortunate to be able to do just that. I'm living an exciting adventure and it can only get bigger and better from here!"

Shannon wants to expand her writing to be able to utilize it by way of incorporating key coping skills into a horse ministry for teens and their families. Here at this facillity Shannon will be able to use the unspoken language of the equine along with Godly intervention to help individuals heal from daily challenges they face in their lives.

"It's an exciting adventure! When God first placed this on my heart over five years ago, He told me to wait. I didn't want to wait. But looking back on this endeavor now, I understand that I had a lot to learn and writing taught me the foundation of God's love. I learn right along with the reader and that for me is a position of great honor, and I am deeply greatful and deeply humbled."
